NOTTS COUNTY EDGED OUT BY GILLINGHAM IN NARROW 1-0 DEFEAT

Notts County suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at the hands of Gillingham on 13/09 at Priestfield Stadium. The Magpies had the majority of possession with 59% and created more scoring opportunities, but were unable to find the back of the net. Matthew Dennis was the only Notts County player to receive a yellow card in the match, which occurred in the 15th minute.

Gillingham's Joshua Andrews scored the only goal of the game in the 46th minute, assisted by Remeao Hutton. Notts County made several substitutions in an attempt to change the course of the game, including Kellan Gordon replacing Barry Cotter in the 58th minute, Nicholas Tsaroulla replacing Jodi Jones in the 59th minute, and Tom Iorpenda replacing Tyrese Hall in the 59th minute.

Despite the loss, Notts County's performance was encouraging, with the team having more shots on goal (8) and more corner kicks (4) than their opponents. The Magpies also had a higher pass accuracy rate, with 73% of their passes finding their target, compared to Gillingham's 62%.

Gillingham's performance was solid, with the team taking advantage of their scoring opportunities and defending well to secure the win. Joshua Andrews was a standout player for the home team, scoring the only goal of the game and receiving a yellow card in the 36th minute.
