Notts County have announced the signing of youngster Lewis Macari on a loan deal until January. The 21 year old will join from Stoke City cementing into the right side of the back three for the Magpies, whilst looking to gain some vital experience within the English Football Leagues.
Macari played a vital part in securing Europa Conference League qualification for League of Ireland side Dundalk, registering 34 appearances and 1 goal to his name whilst playing as a right back. An impressive figure which he will hope to replicate at Meadow Lane.
Notts County’s Board of Directors quoted “After losing Geraldo Bajrami we felt it was important to strengthen defensively, so we’re delighted to have secured Lewis’ services.”
“As well as being defensively sound, Lewis is energetic and an excellent crosser of the ball. We feel he can make positive contributions in attacking phases, as well as defensive.” This statement will bring excitement to the Notts faithful, who hope to see Macari make an instant impact.
Macari will slot in to the right side of the three centre backs, showcasing his progressive, attacking mentality, whilst demonstrating his impressive creative skill set.
Overall, Lewis Macari will go into the Notts side looking to make a statement and help push the Magpies to a potential successive promotion from League 2.
