As we get to the business end of the season I thought it might be a good opportunity to look at average attendances so far the season.

It will be no surprise to many that Notts sit at the top of the home attendance records with an average of 5,226 which over 1,000 per game more than the next highest attendance average from Stockport.

The average attendance for the National League is currently 2,178 with Boreham Wood having the lowest average in the league of 664.

Based on current attendances Notts would have the 5th best average attendance in League Two and the 19th best in League One. You would imagine those figures would be slightly higher if actually in those leagues due to greater interest and bigger travelling support.

Notts highest attendance of the season so far was vs Fylde in the ticket promo game which saw 9,090 fans through the turnstiles. The lowest was on a cold Tuesday night in November vs Boreham Wood with 3,256 bothering to turn up.

Notts appear in 12 of the top 20 attendances so far this season in the National League.

Below is a league table for steps 1-4 of the non league pyramid up to position 57 currently held by Boreham Wood. There are some interesting inclusions at the top of the table with York City currently in 7th place and Hereford, Dulwich Hamlet and Chester not far behind.

Finally here is a table showing the highest and lowest attendance so far for each club in the National League.
