Kyle Wootton becomes the first subject for our Player Profile series following his permanent signing today from Scunthorpe United.

Career:

Kyle came through the youth ranks at Scunthorpe starting his footballing journey in 2007.


In 2015 he signed professional terms with Scunthorpe after already making his first senior debut in August 2015 vs Reading in a League Cup tie.


He scored his first senior goal against Port Vale in a League One encounter in April 2015 and has made a total of 78 appearances for Scunthorpe scoring 11 times.


During his time at Scunthorpe Kyle has enjoyed loan periods with Lincoln City, North Ferriby United, Cheltenham Town, Stevenage, FC Halifax Town and of course Notts County.


It is reported Notts have paid Scunthorpe a fee of £60,000 which sees the striker committed to the Magpies until the end of the 2021/22 season.

Kyle appears to be in the best form of his career so far having scored 11 goals for Notts in his first 24 appearances.


He made his debut for Notts in the 3-1 defeat away to Yeovil, coming on as a 71st minute substitute. Since then he has been pretty much an ever present for the club.


His first goal for Notts was in the 1-1 draw away at Sutton Utd which was quickly followed by goals at home to FC Halifax in a dramatic 10 man 1-0 win and then away to Bromley which ended in a 2-1 defeat.


Kyle also netted twice in the FA Cup first round tie away to Ebbsfleet having already scored the winner in the fourth qualifying round at home to Belper.


His most recent goal for the club was in the 3-0 Boxing Day win at home to Maidenhead United.
