Having gone two games without a goal Notts will be hoping to get back to winning ways at home to Chesterfield in a game being shown live on BT Sport.

Chesterfield currently occupy the last relegation spot in 21st place two points behind Dagenham but have come into some form since the sacking of John Sheridan and are currently unbeaten in their last three outings.

This has moved the Spireites up to 13th in the last 6 form table having secured 7 points in those last three games.

Chesterfield's last six league games: P6 | W2 | D3 | L2 | GF 6 | GA 7 | GD -1 | Pts 8.

This equates to a PPG average for the last 6 league games of 1.33, a goals per game average of 2.0 and a goals conceded average of 1.17.

By comparison Notts are currently 7th in the league on 47 points and only above Solihull and Woking thanks to a slightly better goal difference.

Notts dropped to 8th in the last 6 form table with the last two results having a negative impact on what was up to that point an impressive run of form.

Notts have a last six league record of P6 | W3 | D2 | L1 | GF 6 | GA 3 | GD +3 | Pts 11.

This equates to a PPG average for the last 6 league games of 1.83, a goals per game average of 1.0 and a goals conceded average of 0.5.

How the two teams compare for the season so far (National League):

The season stats would confirm Chesterfields current league position, however they will be growing in confidence following recent results.

Goals stats would indicate that Chesterfield are capable of conceding goals at pretty much any time during a game but have conceded most goals in the last 15 mins.

Notts continue to be at their most vulnerable in the first 15 mins and at their most potent just before and after the half time interval.

Goals scored and conceded per 15 min segment for both Notts and Chesterfield. Segments 31-45 mins and 76-90 mins include goals scored in added/injury time.

Chesterfield caretaker manager John Pemberton's attempt at gamesmanship this week will hopefully fall on deaf ears. Nathan Tyson is not eligible to play against Notts during his loan to Chesterfield and their must be some doubt as to whether or not Ross Fitzimons, after suggestions he desperately wants to go back on loan to Chesterfield is mentally in the right frame of mind to keep goal for Notts in what is a must win game for both clubs.

A win and 3 points for Notts could potentially see a jump in the table to 5th place subject to results at Boreham Wood who are away at AFC Fylde, and Bromley who are away at Halifax.

A defeat could see a drop to 10th depending on results for Solihull, Stockport and Woking.

The bookies, who obviously have no appreciation of the Notts County live TV curse, appear to have Notts odds on favourites for the home win at 4/6, Chesterfield look good value for the away win at 9/2 and you can get 3/1 for the draw. (oddschecker.com).
