A penalty in each half saw Notts come away from Holker Street with a point, enough to maintain their position at the top of the League Two table.

Notts started the better of the teams applying plenty of pressure on the Barrow defence and on 6 minutes a through ball from Dan Crowley released Macaulay Langstaff but he could only pull his left footed shot wide of the far post.

Notts didn't have to wait much longer for the breakthrough when just 5 minutes later Langstaff was felled in the area by Barrow's James Chester. David McGoldrick stepped up to the plate and despite a lengthy delay due to an injury to Barrow's Tyrell Warren McGoldrick kept his nerve sending the Barrow keeper the wrong way to make it 1-0 to Notts.

And that's how it remained at half time.

Notts started the second half well and nearly claimed a second on 55 minutes when Langstaff couldn't guide his header home from a Dan Crowley cross.

However, the chances dried up for The Magpies after this and with their tails up Barrow looked to punish a retreating Notts, enjoying the lion's share of the attacking play. Rory Feely saw a header go wide of Aidan Stones' right post. Before Luke Williams decided to ring the changes.

John Bostock made way for Jim O'Brien, Macaulay Langstaff was withdrawn for Sam Austin and Tobi Adebayo-Rowling made way for Aaron Nemane.

Stone was brought into action immediately after the substitutions having to save an attempt from Barrow's Gerrard Garner.

Barrow continued to maintain the momentum and on 79 minutes were awarded a penalty after a handball from Captain Kyle Cameron.

Dean Campbell stepped up for the hosts and calmly slotted past Stone to draw the match level.

Both sides had half chances as the match drew to a close but it's Barrow who probably felt they should have had the winner after substitute Ben Whitfield missed a big chance with a well struck right footed shot going just wide of the Notts goal.

That was the last of the action as the game played out with honours even.
