King's Lynn Town 2 - 4 Notts County

Vanarama National League | 11th January 2022 | The Walks Stadium

If ever there was a game of two halves, this was it. After failing to get going in the first half and gifting the hosts an early lead Ian Burchnall rang the changes at half time and was rewarded with the desired effect.

Key match stats.

A familiar pattern above with Notts well on top in most areas despite the poor first half. King's Lynn however did edge it on progressive runs and managed to get goal attempts from 2 of 3 corners with Notts failing to create any chances from 4 corners.

Points needed updated and 1.95 PPG is starting to get close to automatic promotion territory based on previous seasons yet still currently sees 3 other teams, Halifax, Chesterfield and Boreham Wood all currently averaging over 2.00 PPG.

Progress updated:

National League results tracker updated.

Goal segment chart updated:

Six game segments updated and this segment is shaping up nicely with 9 points from 3 games.

Player stats next. As usual this is the new table that is also available to view on the player stats page of the website here. There will also be separate tables for the two cup competitions.

Goals and assists chart updated. A good night for Cal Roberts who is now breathing down the neck of Ruben Rodrigues with 8 goals and 5 assists. A goal and an assist for Frank Vincent sees him continue his good form since cementing a first team place and a debut assist for Zak Brunt.

Goal scatter charts. As promised I have now included a goals conceded chart as well.

You can hover on the dots (tap if on a touch screen) to view details for each goal.

Expected goals and I would suggest we just concentrate on the second half!

To finish a game with an expected points total of 2.240 after a dismal first 45 minutes just goes to show how dominant the second half was.

Roberts and Vincent with the high value chances and just one attempt at goal all game for Kyle Wootton.

National League goal scorers includes cup games, penalties and own goals.

Ian Burchnall's record updated after 45 games.

As always thanks for reading.
